IN AUGUST 2026, LEADERS FROM ACROSS THE HEMISPHERE
WILL GATHER IN MONTEVIDEO FOR THE THIRD ANNUAL PANAMERICAN CONGRESS.
The Panamerican Congress was founded in Bogotá, Colombia, where President Gustavo Petro convened eight delegations from across North, Central, and South America and the Caribbean to forge a common vision for the future of the hemisphere.
The following August, President Claudia Sheinbaum welcomed the Congress to Mexico City, where delegations from 12 countries deliberated the themes of equality, prosperity, solidarity and sovereignty — and concluded with a call for the third Congress in Montevideo, Uruguay.
Since then, the mandate for Montevideo has only grown as hemispheric challenges mount: from peace and diplomacy to technology and innovation, the time has come to stand up to old doctrines and renew the spirit of panamerican cooperation.
That is why presidents, ministers, parliamentarians, scholars, activists, and special guests will come together in Uruguay, where President Yamandú Orsi and the Frente Amplio are championing a model of honest and inclusive governance under the banner of “liberty, equality, and fraternity.”
OVER THE COURSE OF THREE DAYS IN URUGUAY’S LEGISLATIVE PALACE, DELEGATES WILL EXCHANGE BEST PRACTICES, DELIBERATE POLICY PROPOSALS,
AND DEVELOP A SHARED AGENDA TO STRENGTHEN SOLIDARITY BETWEEN PEOPLES AND SOLIDARITY AMONG NATIONS.
WHY AM I GOING
TO THE PANAMERICAN
CONGRESS?
